One giant leap

I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.

Those words look so ugly to me, but they are true. Eight words conveying at once a simple and infinitely complex truth. It’s therapeutic to write them, and yet I’m very aware of the long, arduous journey I’m facing in creating this blog. My ultimate goal is to use this space as an outlet for my struggles with mental illness, and a way to chronicle my progress. This post serves as my first behemoth step in the direction of wellness. If you’re reading this, and you’ve also been subjected to abuse in your childhood or otherwise, I invite you to join me. Take a walk with me. We’ll talk when it feels right, and be silent when it suits us.
